THE JOB – BAR MANAGER – FAYETTEVILLE, AR
The primary responsibility will be to drive revenue and profit margins while overseeing the bar operation. The Bar Manager is expected to be on-site to oversee the general bar operation and provide leadership to the team during events and administrative shifts. This person will execute or delegate all duties related to the operational and financial goals of the department, reporting back to the General Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, manages, and develops an in-house bar team
  • Builds bar schedules and deployments for events
  • Handles coaching and counseling to bar team members, looping in the GM when documentation is required
  • Shares information with the GM for pre-shift and production meetings, such as bar specials, wristband colors, depleting items and anything else deemed to be productive information
  • Keeps track of financial performance and profitability in regard to the bar program
  • Supervises the execution of events and all other booked dates as a part of the venue leadership team
  • Performs or delegates sales and reconciliation reporting as required by the business or assigned by GM
  • Reviews and edits payroll punches as needed; GM to delegate process
  • Manages beverage accounting processes – including but not limited to submitting AP and AR invoices, department petty cash and/or purchase card reconciliation and event sales tracking
  • Ensures health code compliance in storage and operating areas, as well as employee conduct
  • Reviews general maintenance needs; communicates needs with GM
  • Manages inventory and cost controls, including purchasing, responsible receiving, product rotation, cost awareness, monthly counts and analysis of results
  • Manages food program if this exists in venue
  • Meets with GM to review business and upcoming plans, including regular production meetings
  • Oversees, tracks, and reports financial aspects of the bar program, including responsible and accurate cash management (if cash is used in venue)
  • Enforces SaveLive Alcohol Policies at all times

Qualifications:

  • Positive leadership skills and experience managing teams comparable to the size of the operation; experience balancing a comparable labor budget
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • History of accurate cash handling and cash management
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience managing a large inventory and associated costs
  • Working knowledge of the industry and market
  • Finance, Loss Prevention, Health Code, Safety and Human Resources knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work the hours required by business needs
